Training

Training stamps are postage stamps produced specifically for instructional purposes within postal services. Issued without postal validity, they were overprinted or marked (e.g. ANNULÉ, SPÉCIMEN, or SANS VALEUR) to remove any face value and used to train postal clerks in handling, cancelling, and accounting for mail. These stamps were never intended for real postal use and exist in several official types and printings.
