A selection of items related to two fast-communication services used in France. Cartes télégraphe were forms used to send messages by telegraph, transmitted electrically through the national network. Cartes pneumatiques were special postal cards carried through the Paris pneumatic tubes for rapid local delivery. The group illustrates the markings and formats used for each service.
